Objectives

1- To improve the care of newborns. infants, children, adolescent and young adults with surgically related disease process by:
1.1 providing educational forum for discussion of problems and treatment relating surgery of newborn, infants and children,

1.2 stimulating research and teaching of surgery of newborn, infants, and children,

1.3 disseminating knowledge of surgery in theses ages groups through the Medical College of Puerto Rico, the Puerto Rico Medical Association, and the medical school around our country,

1.4 bring to our association those surgeons whose work is to a great degree devoted to the pediatric age groups.

2- To serve in a consulting capacity to Medico-Legal cases of our community.

3- To make recommendations for programs, policy statements and other actions on matters relating to surgery of infants and children to surgical residency programs.
